Frozen burgers that are cooked in the air fryer are delicious. How convenient to be able to take frozen hamburger patties straight out of the freezer, then pop them into the air fryer. Can’t beat that when you are in a hurry to cook something good for dinner.
🍔 Key Ingredients
- 4 frozen ground beef hamburger patties
- Weber gourmet burger seasoning (or your favorite seasonings)
- Hamburger trimmings (your choice)
📄 How to Make Frozen Burgers in the Air Fryer (Step-by-Step Instructions with Detailed Photos)
Step 1. Set the Temperature setting on the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit if your air fryer needs to be preheated.
Note: Each air fryer cooks differently so always keep an eye on the food you cook. Our air fryer is a Cosori air fryer. The power output is 1800W. You may have to adjust the time and temperature for your air fryer if it is a smaller Ninja Foodi or another brand that is a smaller unit. Keep checking while air frying the hamburgers as they cook.
Step 2. Line the Basket with Parchment Paper
Place a sheet of parchment paper with holes in it over the top of the air fryer basket. The holes are very important as this allows the air fryer unit to work properly. If you don’t have parchment paper, brush on or spray oil on the basket.
Step 3. Put the Frozen Hamburgers on the Parchment Paper
Place 4 frozen burger patties on top of the parchment paper, or however many you can fit on your air fryer basket. Do not overlap so that all of the areas around each frozen burger can get cooked.
Step 4. Set the Basket with Hamburger Patties in the Air Fryer
Then, cook frozen burgers for 20 to 23 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, flipping the burgers halfway through. Season the burger patties when you do the flip.
We cooked our burgers for 23 minutes until well done. The internal temperature should be 160 degrees. We like our burgers cooked until no pink is showing inside the hamburger patties.
Step 5. Prepare the Burger Fixin’s
While the frozen burger patties are still cooking, gather all of your favorite trimmings you would like to have on your air fryer burgers. We chose super soft potato hamburger buns, and then we will put sliced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and sliced red onions on ours.
Step 6. Start Dressing Up the Hamburger Buns
When the air fryer frozen burgers are just about done cooking, start getting your buns ready. We put some mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato on ours for now. The mayo is on the top part of the buns, while the lettuce and tomato are sitting on the bottom part of the buns.
Step 7. Put the Cheese on the Burgers
After the burger patties are done, turn the air fryer off and take the basket out. Put the slices of cheddar cheese over the top of each burger. We have one family member who doesn’t want their cheese melted on the burger patty so we left one without the cheese. You can also use any kind of cheese you want.
Step 8. Put the Basket Back into the Air Fryer
After you have put the cheese over each hamburger patty, put the basket back into the air fryer and let it set until the cheese has melted, about 1 to 2 minutes. The air fryer is still hot enough to melt the cheese.
Step 9. Place the Hamburger Patties on the Buns
After the cheese has melted, put the hamburger patties on top of the lettuce and tomato. We added some pickle relish to the other side of the bun.
Step 10. Put Some Onions on the Burger
We put some sliced red onions on top of the relish. So good! Of course, if you don’t like onions, you can skip this step.
Step 11. Assemble the Hamburger
Flip the top part of the hamburger bun over the burger with the melted cheese. Enjoy!
