The riper the banana, the sweeter the banana bread. Ripe bananas are soft and also streaked with black color or black spots. So don’t throw out those over-ripened bananas, bake up some banana bread instead. Your family will thank you and enjoy every last bite of it.

- 3/4 of a cup of butter (1 and 1/2 sticks)
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- 2 cups of sugar

Step-By-Step Banana Bread Instructions With Photos
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
For this recipe, one loaf of banana bread will have white and dark chocolate chips in it, and the other loaf won’t. That gives us two different loaves of banana bread, and each one will taste so delicious it will be hard to choose which one to eat. Therefore, you will need to double the amount in the ingredients list if you want chocolate chips in both loaves.
Preparing The Butter
Cut up 1 and a half sticks of butter and place them in a microwaveable bowl. Note: 1 and a half sticks of butter equal 3/4 of a cup.
Then, soften the butter by melting it in the microwave for twenty seconds.
Adding The Cream Cheese And Sugar
In a large bowl add 3/4 of a cup of the melted butter together with 8 ounces of the cream cheese, and 2 cups of the sugar.
Mixed Until Fluffy
Then, using the electric hand mixer, whip the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar until fluffy.
Adding The Eggs To Banana Bread Batter
Add one of the eggs together with the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
Next, using the electric hand mixer again, whip the egg together with the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
Then add the second egg to the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
And again, using the electric hand mixer, whip both of the eggs together with the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
Adding Bananas
Mash the 4 ripe bananas using a fork and then add the bananas together with the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
Next, add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract together with the melted butter, cream cheese, sugar, and banana mixture.
Mix the vanilla extract together with the bananas, melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture.
Preparing The Flour Mixture
In a small bowl add 1/2 teaspoon of salt together with 3 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
Slowly add the flour mixture together with the banana mixture.
Keep adding more of the flour mixture together with the banana mixture.
Mix all of the ingredients thoroughly together with the flour and banana mixture.
Preparing The Loaf Pans
Generously spray two loaf pans with cooking spray.
Filling Loaf Pans With Banana Bread Batter
After spraying the loaf pans, separate the banana mixture evenly into each pan.
Optional Chocolate Chips
Add the dark chocolate chips and the white chocolate chips to one loaf pan.
Note: If you want to you can put dark and white chocolate chips in both of the loaf pans, or you don’t have to add any chocolate chips at all because this banana bread recipe tastes great without them too. However, you will need to double the amount in the ingredients list if you want chocolate chips in both loaves.
Stir the dark chocolate chips and the white chocolate chips together with the banana mixture.
Place both loaf pans in a preheated 350-degree oven and bake for 1 hour. A toothpick inserted into the center of the banana bread should come out clean when done.
Not only is this a perfect loaf of banana bread, but it is undeniably delicious too, with crispy edges on the outside that complement the soft and fluffiness of the inside.

- 1 ½ sticks butter (3/4 of a cup)

- 2 eggs
- 4 ripe bananas

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put the butter in a bowl.
- Microwave for 30 seconds to soften the butter.
- In a large bowl combine the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Mix together with an electric hand mixer until it is fluffy.
- Add the eggs to the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture. Mix together using the electric hand mixer.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
- Add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract to the melted butter, cream cheese, and sugar mixture. Mix together.
- In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Slowly add all of the flour mixture to the banana bread mixture.
- Spray the loaf pans with cooking spray.
- Separate the banana bread mixture evenly into the loaf pans.
- Sprinkle dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips on top of "one" of the loaves of banana bread. Mix together.
- Place both loaf pans in a preheated 350-degree oven and bake for 1 hour.
- A toothpick inserted in the center of the banana bread should come out clean when done.

- The 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips and the 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips used in this recipe is enough for one loaf of banana bread. You will need to double the amount if you want chocolate chips in both loaves.
- You can also add walnuts or raisins, or both, to the banana bread batter right before you put it in the oven.
- Powdered sugar icing can be lightly drizzled over the top of banana bread after it is done baking in the oven to give it a little frosting taste.
