With a sharp knife, cut the avocado in half and remove the seed.
Scoop out the avocado flesh inside the peel with a spoon.
Mash the avocado in a bowl with a potato masher, food processor, or blender until the avocado is smooth with no clumps in it.
Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, honey, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed avocado. Set aside for now.
In a separate bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well blended.
Add the flour mixture to the mashed avocado mixture. Mix the avocado brownie batter until well blended, but do not over-mix.
Fold the chocolate chips into the avocado brownie batter. (optional)
Spray the baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the avocado brownie mixture into the prepared pan.
Toss a few extra chocolate chips on top of the brownies before baking. (optional)
Put the avocado brownies in the preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out slightly moist. If the toothpick is covered in avocado batter, bake the brownies for a few more minutes, or to your personal preference.
After baking the brownies, put them on a wire rack to cool and set properly. Store the brownies on the countertop or in the refrigerator.

If you want sweeter brownies, add a bit more sugar, honey, or maple syrup.

After baking the brownies, spread some chocolate frosting on top.
You can add more chocolate chips to the brownie batter if you prefer.
